The full details of the new OZEV criteria are outlined below:

Workplaces

  • A grant of up to £350 is available per socket

  • A maximum grant of up to £14,000 is permitted

  • Applicants must be registered with Companies House or have a VAT registration

  • Workplaces must be able to provide private parking reserved for staff or fleet use only

Small accommodation businesses and charities

  • A grant of up to £350 grant is available per socket

  • A maximum grant of up to £14,000 is permitted with a limit of 40 applications

  • Applicants must be a registered charity or, if an accommodation business, employ less than 250 employees

  • Accommodation providers and charities must be able to provide off-street parking but staff and visitors are permitted to use the charge points

Owners of commercially let properties

  • A grant of up to £350 is available per socket

  • A maximum grant of up to £35,000 is permitted with a limit of 100 applications

  • Applicants must be a registered business or a public authority. If they are a private entity, they may be registered with Companies House, have a VAT registration, or be a private registered provider of social housing

  • The property must be a commercially let unit and have associated parking with it

  • The charge point must be installed in private parking space that is reserved for staff or fleet use only

SME’s

  • A grant of up to £850 is available per parking bay

  • A maximum grant of up to £15,000 is permitted per building with a limit of 5 applications

  • Grants will also be given towards supporting infrastructure to allow a charge point to be installed at a later date, up to £500 per bay is available

  • Applicants must be a registered with Companies House or have a VAT registration

  • Businesses must employ less than 250 employees

  • The charge point must be installed with private parking

  • A minimum of five bays should be set aside for EV charging however only one must have a charge point installed

Building owners, including landlords and social housing providers

  • A grant of up to £350 per socket is available

  • A maximum grant up to £70,000 is permitted with a limit of 200 applications

  • Applicants must be a registered business or public authority. If they are a private entity, they may be registered with Companies House, have a VAT registration, or be a private registered provider of social housing.

  • The property must have associated private parking. There is no limit as to how many charge point sockets can be installed in each property within the overall maximum grant available


Owners of apartment blocks

  • A grant of up to £30,000 is available per building

  • A limit of 30 applications is permitted per year per applicant.

  • The grant available per application will depend on how many parking bays can be provided with a charge point socket, a grant of up to £850 is available per bay

  • Grants of up to £500 per bay will also be provided for supporting infrastructure to allow a charge point to be installed at a later date Applicants must be a registered business or a public authority. If they are a private entity, they may be registered with Companies House, have a VAT registration, or be a private registered provider of social housing

  • The property must have associated private parking. There is no limit as to how many charge point sockets can be installed in each property within the overall £30,000 grant per property

  • A minimum of five bays must be set aside for EV charging with at least one of which having a working charge point installed
